Scott Summers has been with the X-Men since their formation. His keen sense of duty makes him a natural leader, and his optic blast allows him to command Xavier's fighting force. Cyclops has two main challenges: his optic blasts and his brother. His optic blasts are devastating and uncontrollable without the ruby-quartz visor made for him by Professor Xavier. He would rather fight with his eyes closed than risk hurting a teammate, or worse-an innocent. His brother's status in the Brotherhood of Mutants causes him great distress, because
of Scott's unwavering loyalty to Charles Xavier and the ideals of the X-Men.
